Spanish football league LALIGA has signed a strategic agreement in Colombia with COMPENSAR with the aim of transforming the local sports ecosystem through the professionalisation and comprehensive development of athletes affiliated with the compensation fund. This alliance reinforces LALIGA's commitment to the growth of grassroots football and comprehensive training at a global level. On this occasion, it will be done through a project structured around two main axes: the training of professionals in the sector and the integration of the LALIGA Schools model into Compensar's infrastructure and sports offering in Bogotá.
The first pillar of the agreement, and the most relevant in terms of sport, focuses on the development of Colombian grassroots football through the opening of LALIGA Schools in Bogotá led by Compensar, raising the standard of grassroots football to international parameters. These schools, which LALIGA has in places such as Vietnam and Taiwan, apply the LALIGA Methodology, an internationally proven model that focuses on the comprehensive training of players and the individualisation of the learning process, addressing the tactical-cognitive, technical-coordinative, physical-conditional and psycho-socio-affective areas in a balanced manner.
The sports project will have a Spanish technical director from LALIGA, with the highest UEFA PRO licence, who will be responsible for leading the methodological implementation on the ground. This work will be coordinated on an ongoing basis from LALIGA's headquarters in Madrid, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency with the Spanish competition's training model.
The agreement also provides for specialised training programmes for professionals in the sports industry, which will be developed in both Spain and Colombia through LALIGA Business School, enhancing Compensar's training model. These training courses will be aimed at professionalising the local football ecosystem, sharing the knowledge, experience and best practices of one of the world's leading football competitions.
"This project allows us to continue exporting the LALIGA Methodology to a country with enormous passion and football potential such as Colombia. Our goal is to help create a quality training environment, focused on the comprehensive development of the player and based on the keys that have made Spain the world reference in grassroots football due to the quality of its youth academies," said Juan Florit, head of Football Projects at LALIGA.
For his part, Juan Raúl Mejía, LALIGA delegate, stressed that "Colombia is a strategic market for LALIGA in the region. This agreement with COMPENSAR strengthens our presence in the country, but also in Latin America, and demonstrates our commitment to sharing knowledge, training local talent and contributing sustainably to the growth of the football industry hand in hand with local players."
"For Compensar, this alliance with LALIGA represents a milestone in our ongoing quest to offer wellness solutions that transform lives. We are not only bringing in an elite brand; we are integrating a global methodology proven in more than 60 countries to continue professionalising the talent of our children and coaches. With the arrival of the LALIGA Methodology on our pitches, Bogotá, and Compensar in particular, are strengthening high-level sports training in the region, ensuring that football is a tool for comprehensive, tactical and human development," said Oscar Mario Ruiz, Director of the Wellbeing Unit at Compensar.
With this agreement, LALIGA continues to consolidate its international leadership in the field of youth football and professional training, relying on a global network of more than 900 sports projects developed since 2015 in more than 60 countries, with the aim of contributing to the growth of world football through its own methodology and the values of sport.
