It was honours even at the end of a pulsating showdown between two teams that are chasing promotion to LaLiga Santander. David Costas's towering header put R. Oviedo in front after half an hour, but Carlos David drew Huesca level with an uncannily similar goal with around 20 minutes left. Toche had the opportunity to steal the spoils, only to see his penalty saved. The stalemate leaves the Asturians still a point ahead of the Aragonese outfit.
After a painful loss to Sevilla Atletico last time out, R. Valladolid returned to winning ways thanks to a close-range finish from Jose Arnaiz in the dying stages. A rocket from Borja Valle had earlier cancelled out the hosts' opener, which was scored by the prolific Raul de Tomas.
Jose Bordalas's troops stretched their unbeaten streak to five, although they would have hoped for more against lowly Nastic. Francisco Portillo broke the deadlock midway through the first half with a cushioned volley from just outside the six-yard box, but Achille Emana earned the Catalans a point with a low drive just after the restart.
The more than 13,000 fans in attendance at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza were treated to an absorbing spectacle, with high-flying Cadiz holding runaway league leaders Levante. Roger fired the table-toppers ahead with a coolly dispatched penalty on 40', but Salvador Sanchez smashed home to restore parity shortly before the hour mark.
Michel's men remain in flying form, this victory making it six consecutive fixtures without defeat for the outfit from the outskirts of Madrid. Goals from Javi Guerra – from the spot – and Manucho put Lugo to the sword and allowed Rayo to continue their climb up the standings.
UCAM served up one of the shocks of the matchday by claiming three precious points away to second-placed Girona, in the process boosting their survival hopes. Though the Catalans took the lead through Portu in the 12th minute, Francisco's charges turned it around courtesy of Jona and Pere Milla.
Dani Calvo dramatically rescued a point for mid-table Numancia at home to Tenerife. The promotion challengers were well on course to come away with a hard-earned triumph after Anthony Lozano had nodded them into the driving seat on 68', but Calvo's last-gasp header from a free-kick meant it finished all square at Los Pajaritos.
The spoils were shared at the Iberostar Stadium, but the draw will have tasted like defeat for the home team, who are in dire need of wins in their bid to avoid the drop and – not for the first time this season – failed to hold on to an advantage. The match was just three minutes old when Lago Junior opened the scoring for the islanders, but Cordoba – themselves perched just above the relegation zone – hit back through Pedro Rios roughly a quarter of an hour later.
A somewhat fortuitous effort from Angel inside the first 15 minutes proved enough for Zaragoza to clinch three important points away to Mirandes. While the hosts remain rooted to the foot of the table, the visitors are looking up and are still in with a shout of making the playoffs.
UD Almeria 2-1 Sevilla Atletico
This Andalusian derby brought a massive victory for Almeria in their struggle to stay up. Kalu Uche turned in a cross to give Luis Miguel Ramis's side the lead on 25' and then Fidel doubled the scoreline with a strike from a tight angle with 20 minutes left. Sevilla At. grabbed a consolation in stoppage time.
LaLiga 1|2|3 Matchday 35 was rounded off in fitting fashion with the fifth stalemate of the weekend. There were chances at both ends in Reus, but some poor finishing, some great goalkeeping and the intervention of the woodwork prevented the deadlock from being broken. The result keeps the Catalans 14th, while the Madrilenians are still four points adrift of safety.
