Valencia CF managed to win 3-1 to AS Monaco in the first leg of the qualifying play-off of the UEFA Champions League. Valencia managed to give the first step in the playoffs thanks to the goals by Rodrigo Moreno, Daniel Parejo and Sofiane Feghouli and surpassed the Monegasque team that was able to score through Mario Pašalić.
1. Early goal
Valencia soon put land in between and spurred by his crowd they placed the 1-0 on the scoreboard after Rodrigo´s goal. A nice change of play by Antonio Barragan to Rodrigo de Paul, and a great center of this to Feghouli, ended with the Spanish-Brazilian striker shoot in the back of the net.
2. Monaco´s pressure
The pace of the game was carried by Nuno Espirito Santo´s side, but the advance pressing by Monaco allowed them to reclaim space from the Spanish team and take the control of the ball in the final minutes of the first half.

3. Heat and humidity
High temperatures and humidity that there was in the Mestalla Stadium, led players to manage their efforts throughout the game.
4. Breathtaking saves by Ryan
The Australian goalkeeper made several stops of real merit, among which highlights the brilliant save to the shot by Bernardo Silva, that later hit the post.
5. Valencia´s response
Shortly after the start of the second half, the Spanish team conceded a goal after a great solo action by Anthony Martial, which ended with the goal by Pašalić. Soon after, Parejo took the score to 2-1, and in the final minutes of the match, Feghouli put the 3-1 final.
