Unstoppable Betis maintain excellent pre-season form

The LaLiga Santander outfit faced the Bundesliga champions in the early hours of Thursday morning (Spanish time) in their final pre-season outing before the European Super Cup. Zinedine Zidane's side grew stronger as the game wore on and went on to dominate proceedings in the second half, with an unstoppable 79th-minute Danilo strike sealing the win.

FC Cologne 2-0 SD Eibar

The Basques succumbed to defeat in the second of their pre-season games in Austria, as Jose Luis Mendilibar's men were put to the sword by Cologne in Kitzbuhel. The German outfit got their noses in front through a Filip Mladenovic spot-kick and rounded off the victory with a late Dominic Maroh header.

Sporting Lisbon 2-3 Real Betis

The Andalusians claimed a sixth pre-season success to maintain their excellent run of form. Following on from their Dresden Cup triumph, the Verdiblancos had hat-trick hero Ruben Castro to thank as they saw off stern opposition in Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese outfit's goals came courtesy of Alan Ruiz and Islam Slimani.
