The Liga BBVA now knows the three new sides that will take part next season. Real Betis and R. Sporting had already managed automatic promotion, but on Sunday UD Las Palmas joined them as they went up via the playoffs. These three are historic clubs in the top-flight of Spanish football and appear among the top 20 teams in the all-time table of the Liga BBVA.

Real Betis were the first to achieve promotion. The green and whites will play their 51st season in the Liga BBVA and have gone back up a year after being relegated. The side from Seville were champions of the Liga BBVA in the 1931/32 season and are 10th in the all-time table of the top-flight of Spanish football.

Weeks later it was R. Sporting who confirmed their promotion. The Asturians will take part in their 41st season in the Liga BBVA, managing to return three years after being relegated. Their best ever finish was second in the 1978/79 season and they are 16th in the all-time standings.

On Sunday, and via the playoffs, UD Las Palmas joined these two teams. The Canarians will play their 32nd season in the Liga BBVA, returning after 13 seasons. Their best ever position was a second place achieved in the 1968/69 season and they are 19th in the all-time standings.
