The Neville brothers follow in the footsteps of the Garrido brothers

After sharing their careers as footballers from the age of 11 and playing together in the first team of Manchester United, Gary and Phil Neville's careers cross paths again. This time, they leave the pitch to enter the Valencia dugout where they face a new challenge at the Levantine club.

The British brothers follow in the footsteps of the Garrido brothers, Juan Carlos and Raul, to manage a team in LaLiga. There are plenty of cases of brothers who compete together in the same team, but it is rare to find a duo who share management responsibilities.

Juan Carlos and Raúl Garrido took charge of Villarreal on 1 February 2010. They came up through the lower levels of the Castellon team, and led them to an historic promotion to the Liga Adelante, and they went on to accept the challenge of managing the first team. With the brothers at the helm, the team regained its identity, reached fourth place in the Liga BBVA and made it to the semifinals of the UEFA Europa League.

Valencia have turned to Gary Neville to lead the change at their club. His brother Phil was already there, having served as an assistant to Nuno Espirito Santo. They take charge hoping to repeat the successes they had together as players on the pitch.
