Passion for LaLiga knows no bounds. There is no lull in worldwide interest for LaLiga, whether during the competitive LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1l2l3 seasons, or over the summer break with the LaLiga World tours. This week it is the turn of former LaLiga players to represent Spain's domestic football overseas with the LaLiga Legends side taking on the Iranian All-Stars, a team that includes some of Iran's best veteran players.
The match, which is scheduled to be played on Thursday 25 August at 15:30 CET, will be the first time that retired LaLiga stars take part in a LaLiga Legends match. The venue chosen to host the game is Tehran's spectacular 95,000-capacity Azadi Stadium where Iran play their competitive games.
The match, which will air on Iran's Channel 3, will also be broadcast live on LaLiga's official YouTube channel and then be shown later on GOL at 19:00 CET. This will allow fans from all over the world to watch the former LaLiga idols return to the game against an Iranian team which includes Ali Daei, Ali Karimi, Yahya Golmohammadi and Mehdi Mahdavikia, amongst others. The encounter will allow Spanish football lovers to re-live fond memories of a bygone era.
