Targets in touching distance for Athletic and Leganes

Ernesto Valverde's men are eyeing another victory at San Mames in their pursuit of a European place, while a point would be enough for Leganes to sew up safety.

Team News:

Athletic Club: Enric Saborit (injured) and Aymeric Laporte (suspended)

CD Leganes: Jon Ander Serantes and Robert Ibañez (both injured)

Athletic (6th, 62 pts):

- The Basques have triumphed in seven of their last eight LaLiga Santander encounters at San Mames, with the only exception in that sequence being the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid back in March. Overall, their home record in the league this season reads 13 wins, three draws and just two losses in 18 matches.

- Ernesto Valverde's troops can clinch European qualification by beating Leganes if Real Sociedad lose at home to Malaga CF. Otherwise, they will have to wait until the final matchday of the campaign, when they travel to the Vicente Calderon, to try to book themselves a Europa League ticket.

Leganes (16th, 33 pts):

- Asier Garitano's side, meanwhile, know that a single point in either of their remaining two outings would suffice to keep them in LaLiga Santander for a second year. If they fail to get a positive result at San Mames, their battle against relegation could go down to their last game of the season, when they welcome another Basque outfit, SD Eibar, to Butarque.

- Leganes won three of their first four away fixtures this term, but haven't tasted victory on the road since.
