The latest instalment of the Spain Experience represented a new chapter in the partnership agreement between Bolivian football and LaLiga. The forum event, which is part of the LaLiga World programme, seeks to use football as a medium to promote relationships between Spanish and foreign companies.

As Fernando Sanz, LaLiga's managing director for MENA and director of international projects underlined, "ultimately it's football that gives us an excuse to get together with leading business figures and other authorities from the region as we look to enhance the relationship between both countries."

In the view of many, football represents the most visible means for the Marca España (Spanish Brand) to gain ground in foreign parts and LaLiga's descent on the South American country has been widely welcomed by local business chiefs. As Joan Borrell, the Spanish consul to Santa Cruz de la Sierra put it: "Spanish football has a reputation for excellence throughout the whole world and it's something we need to be taking advantage of to promote ourselves abroad."

Indeed, the Bolivian Professional Football League fully intend on gaining a strong understanding and learning from Spanish football's good practices, as confirmed by the organisation's secretary general, Hormando Vaca Diez, who was representing the league at the lunch: "Bolivian football has a long way to go and we want to learn from and find out more about the best league on the planet."
