Reinforcements arrive at Mestalla

Two defeats in the opening two games mean that Valencia need to turn things around in front of their home crowd. The game against Betis, who earned their first point on Matchday 2, could offer their new signings the opportunity to substantiate the fresh hope they have given the fans.

Match Facts:

Valencia (19th, 0 pts):

- Valencia made the most of the final days of the transfer window to bring in some big names. Munir, Ezequiel Garay and Eliaquim Mangala have bolstered a squad looking to notch up their first points in LaLiga Santander in front of their home crowd.

- Pako Ayestaran's men have suffered five consecutive defeats in LaLiga Santander between this season and the last. They have never lost six games on the trot in the history of the competition.

Betis (16th, 1 pt):

- Gus Poyet's charges earned their first point in LaLiga Santander on the last matchday against RC Deportivo and they will be looking to add to their tally at the expense of a Valencia side in need of a good result.

Los Verdiblancos will be keen to break with their poor away form at Mestalla. They have not managed to claim all three points on the road since 3 March against RCD Espanyol. Their mission is to make sure the trip to Mestalla signifies the end of that six-game rut.
