Match Facts:
Sevilla (4th, 4 pts):
-Fond memories from 2015/16 fixture: A repeat of what happened last time Las Palmas travelled to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan would suit Sevilla just fine. The Andalusians triumphed 2-0 on that occasion, although both of their goals came from players who left for pastures new this summer: Kevin Gameiro and Ever Banega. This time round Luciano Vietto will be spearheading the charge as he and his teammates look to serve up another barnstormer like their first home encounter of the campaign, when they defeated RCD Espanyol 6-4 on the opening weekend. That was the highest-scoring game of the season so far and it will take some topping.
-Change of style: Jorge Sampaoli has well and truly stamped his mark on his side and the stats are a testament to this fact. After two rounds of action, Sevilla have made the second most passes in LaLiga Santander (1,132, behind only FC Barcelona's 1,284). What's more, the most prolific passer in the division right now is none other than Steven N'Zonzi. The French midfielder has been playing a key role as Sevilla's distributor-in-chief, bringing the ball out from the back and starting moves, as illustrated by his tally of 169 passes across the first two matches.
Las Palmas (1st, 6 pts):
-Table-toppers and top scorers: Quique Setien's side have made a stunning start to the season. They have chalked up two victories in as many games and lead not just the league table but also the scoring charts, with nine goals. What's more, the Canary Islanders are winning admirers in abundance with the fantastic football they are playing. Setien had already struck a superb balance between organisation and entertainment last term, and the additions of Kevin-Prince Boateng and Marko Livaja have given his team an extra dimension and even more goal threat.
-Resonant reunions: This weekend's game will be extra special for certain players. These include Javi Varas, who is headed back to the place where he learned his trade and to the stadium where he spent five seasons between the sticks. It will be a similarly emotional occasion for Vitolo, whose journey took him in the opposite direction to Varas. The Spain international is a product of the Las Palmas academy and led his hometown club to promotion to LaLiga Santander in 2013. After that the attacking midfielder moved to Sevilla, where he has won three Europa Leagues in a row and become an instrumental figure in the dressing room.
