Sevilla Atletico 2-1 Getafe CF
The Andalusians edged past the promotion-chasing Madrilenians to make sure of their LaLiga 1|2|3 status for another year. Two-goal Marc Gual was the star of the show, pouncing to prod into the net in the 21st minute after Alberto Garcia had spilled Ivi's long-range effort and then settling the contest 10 minutes from time by turning home David Carmona's cross. Sandwiched in between these predatory finishes was Jorge Molina's controversial equaliser (70'), which ultimately counted for nothing.

R. Zaragoza 1-1 Cadiz CF
It was honours even at La Romareda in a game that both sides set out to win. Angel nodded the hosts in front right on the stroke of half-time, before Aitor Garcia's 90th-minute daisy-cutter from outside the box snatched a point for the visitors. The result inches Zaragoza up a place and away from the relegation picture, while Cadiz stay fifth.

R. Valladolid CF 2-1 RCD Mallorca
A double from Raul de Tomas, who was in inspirational form throughout, earned R. Valladolid a significant victory that moves them level on points with SD Huesca and right on the verge of the playoff spots. Dejan Lekic pulled one back late on for second-from-bottom Mallorca, but it proved nothing more than a consolation.

Elche CF 0-1 CD Mirandes
Basement boys Mirandes reignited their survival hopes in the most dramatic of fashions, in the process dragging Elche even deeper into the mire. It looked for all the world like the spoils were going to be shared at the Martinez Valero, but Carlos Moreno had other ideas, rising highest to meet a stoppage-time free-kick and loop a header over Juan Carlos's despairing dive.

SD Huesca 2-2 CD Tenerife
Huesca hit back in the dying stages to salvage a deserved point in this clash between playoff contenders at El Alcoraz. Two smart strikes from Anthony Lozano on the counter-attack had placed the Canary Islanders in a commanding position in the first half, but the Aragonese outfit kept plugging away and hauled themselves level in the final quarter of an hour courtesy of Borja Lazaro's close-range finish and a Samu Saiz penalty. The draw keeps Cadiz fifth and Huesca sixth, albeit both now have R. Valladolid looming large behind them.

Levante UD 2-1 Girona FC
Juan Ramon Lopez Muñiz's side nigh on wrapped up the LaLiga 1|2|3 title with four games to spare by overcoming second-placed Girona to extend the gap between the pair to a practically insurmountable 12 points. Efforts from Jose Luis Morales and Rober got the job done for Levante, while Samuele Longo was on the scoresheet for Girona, who remain well on course for automatic promotion to LaLiga Santander, with a seven-point cushion over Getafe.

UD Almeria 2-0 CD Numancia
Two first-half goals were enough for Almeria to ease past Numancia and put some daylight between themselves and the dreaded bottom four. The match was only seven minutes old when Fidel curled the hosts ahead and Antonio Puertas effectively sealed the deal just after the half-hour mark. It is now three wins in five for Luis Miguel Ramis's men, who stay outside the drop zone for another week.

Cordoba CF 1-0 CF Reus
A goal from Rodri gave Cordoba a crucial victory and moved the relegation-battling Andalusians up a place. It was an evenly matched encounter throughout, with the 26-year-old attacker's towering 86th-minute header proving the only difference between the teams at the Nuevo Arcangel.

AD Alcorcon 2-0 Rayo Vallecano
Two goals in the space of three minutes in the latter exchanges tipped the scales in Alcorcon's favour in this Madrid derby. Besides bagging the local bragging rights, The Potters' second triumph in eight days – secured through Ivan Alejo (80') and Victor Perez (83') – propels them out of the relegation zone. Rayo, for their part, were brought back down to earth after beating league leaders Levante last time out.

Nastic 2-2 R. Oviedo
The Catalans showcased character aplenty to collect a hard-earned point against Fernando Hierro's playoff chasers. Some slapdash defending helped the Asturians go 2-0 up within the opening 24 minutes, but a stunning Sergio Tejera brace (59' and 81') rescued a share of the spoils for Nastic, who continue to believe in their survival bid.

CD Lugo 0-0 UCAM Murcia CF
The goalkeepers came out on top in this keenly contested encounter at the Anxo Carro. Several chances went begging at both ends, with the hosts particularly profligate and guilty of failing to press home their numerical advantage following Hugo Alvarez's sending-off for a horror tackle after just 15 minutes. Nevertheless, the stalemate lifts Lugo up one spot in the standings, to 10th, while UCAM remain 15th.
