LaLiga, Bundesliga, Premier League and Primeira Liga will meet together in the Cologne Cup, on the 1st and 2nd August, to participate in a tug-of-war tournament of heavyweights, under the context of the LFP World Challenge Tour.

Valencia CF will represent BBVA League in the place that will host two of LaLiga World matches. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, who have been training since Monday in the welcoming city of Kamen (80 km. away from Cologne), will play on Saturday (17:45h.) against FC Porto, that has some of the LaLiga's old acquaintances such as Iker Casillas, Christian Tello and Alberto Bueno. Sunday will close the tour around the Teuton country against the home team, Bundesliga's FC Köln. Stoke City is the third guest in this event that, on this occasion will not play against the Valencian team.

‘This tournament will be very useful for us to prepare the UEFA Champions League, because Porto and Köln are two teams that play good football and they will not make it easy for us’, told the German player Shkodran Mustafi to LaLiga during an exclusive intervew. He will be one of the stars who will be in Nuno’s first team playing in the RheinEnergie Stadion. However, Andre Gomes, still recovering, will not be present and will join the group trainings in the next weeks.

After a successful season in which Valencia finished fourth, the "che" team travelled to New York within the framework of the LFP World Challenge event, to export football and LaLiga image to the USA. After playing against Columbus Crew SC and enjoying their well-deserved holidays, Alvaro Negredo, Paco Alcacer, Javi Fuego and the rest of the team headed towards Salzburg to make their first pre-season stage.

Now, after their trip to China to play against FC Bayern München, Valencia returns to Germany to get ready to face the new season, expecting to yield many successes. The first one will be to lift the Cologne Cup as a sign of the team's potential. ‘We are a hard-working team and we expect to keep growing this year’, Mustafi claims. The following success, to qualify for UEFA Champions League group stage.
