CD Numancia 0-2 Atletico Madrid
Atletico claimed a 2-0 triumph over Numancia in their first pre-season outing in the town of El Burgo de Osma. Fernando Torres fired home the Rojiblancos first of the night when he latched onto a slide rule pass from Augusto Fernandez and made no mistake with the finish. Atletico doubled their advantage right after the restart after Luciano Vietto's effort ricocheted off Numancia's Francisco Regalon and into the net to ensure that Diego Simeone's charges got their pre-season campaign off to a winning start.
Real Sociedad 1-1 Villarreal CF
In the day's only all-LaLiga Santander clash, a last-minute Juanmi Jimenez effort rescued a draw for La Real. Cedric Bakambu had put Villarreal into the driving seat in this fiercely contested pre-season clash, but Jimenez was on hand to snatch an equaliser with virtually the last kick of the game.
Girondins de Bordeaux 2-2 Athletic Club
Athletic pulled off a fine comeback against Bordeaux in a superb friendly played in the French town of Tarnos. The French team mounted a 2-0 lead thanks to a brace by Enzo Crivelli, but Borja Viguera pulled one back before the break and Guillermo equalised after the restart to make it 2-2 at the final whistle.
D. Alavés 2-1 SD Huesca
Mauricio Pellegrino's D. Alaves crowned themselves champions of the 1st Bolaño Tournament on beating the LaLiga 1l2l3 side SD Huesca. Manu Barreiro put the Basques ahead from the penalty spot and, although Borja Lazaro levelled for Huesca, Deyverson made it 2-1 on his debut in the closing stages to give Alaves victory.
K.A.S. Eupen 2-3 Málaga CF
Before kicking off their LaLiga World adventure by appearing in the Aachen Cup, Juande Ramos's Malaga produced their second victory of the pre-season with a 3-2 away win over K.A.S. Eupen of Belgium, featuring goals from three of their new signings for this season. Eupen went ahead, but Sandro Ramirez drew things level on his debut for Malaga. In the second half, Keko and Jony extended Malaga's lead, seeing them through to victory despite a late goal by the Belgians. Malaga are back in action this Sunday in Dresden, where they will contest the Aachen Cup along with Alemannia Aachen, FC Koln and Olympique de Marseille.
UD Las Palmas 6-1 UD Las Palmas B
Quique Setien's side continue to hone their firepower ahead of the new season, beating their reserves 6-1 this Saturday in a friendly which rounded off an intense week of double training sessions. Two Sergio Araujo goals, another brace by Vicente Gomez, and strikes from Nabil El Zhar and Marko Livaja gave the LaLiga Santander outfit the win.
Granada CF 0-0 Algeria U23s
Granada and the Algeria Under-23 national team drew 0-0 in a hotly contested clash on Saturday morning at the Pinatar Arena, which was played over two halves of 35 minutes apiece due to the scorching heat. Following their two wins in the first two games of the pre-season, on this occasion Paco Jemez's men were unable to find the back of the net and extend their winning run.
Rio Ave 1-0 R. Sporting
Following on from Friday's defeat at the hands of Primeira Liga outfit Feirense, Abelardo Fernandez's side once again came off second best against Portuguese opposition, this time slipping to defeat against Rio Ave. A first-half strike from Yazalde leaves the Asturians contemplating the second reverse of their Portuguese tour.
R. Betis 2-1 Fulham FC
Gustavo Poyet's men continued their promising pre-season form following a 2-1 victory over Championship outfit Fulham in Lepe, where goals from Cristiano Piccini and Joaquin were enough to guide the Andalusians to victory.
Feyenoord 2-1 Valencia CF
A last-gasp strike from Feyenoord's Eric Botteghin denied Pako Ayestaran's Valencia a draw in Holland. Nicolai Jørgensen put the Dutch outfit into the ascendancy, but Alvaro Medran struck to restore parity after the interval. Just when it looked as if the game was destined to end all square, Botteghin drilled home to hand Feyenoord victory.
CF Talavera 0-1 CD Leganes
Leganes's preparations ahead of their debut season in LaLiga Santander continue apace, with the league's newboys claiming a 1-0 win over Talavera at El Prado. A first-half strike from Miguel Angel Guerrero was enough to separate the sides and secure a morale-boosting victory for Asier Garitano's men.
