With Matchday 25 of the LaLiga Santander season now done and dusted, it's time to take stock and reveal the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI following this latest round of fixtures. On this occasion, the star-studded lineup features representatives from no fewer than seven different clubs, with FC Barcelona leading the way as three of their standout performers make the cut.
The Player of the Matchday honours go to Atletico Madrid hitman Antoine Griezmann , who chalked up an impressive 23 points after claiming a hat-trick and an assist in the Madrilenians' resounding win over Sevilla FC. The Frenchman turned in a stellar display as Atleti eased to a 5-2 victory in their trip to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
The man occupying the Best XI sticks this time round is Villarreal CF shotstopper Sergio Asenjo (22 points). The Spanish custodian registered a clean sheet and amazingly kept out two penalties as the Yellow Submarine secured a priceless three points in their meeting with Getafe CF.
The side's defensive ranks are made up of players from three different clubs. RC Celta's Hugo Mallo (14) and CD Leganes defenders Unai Bustinza (13) and Rico (12) all did their bit to ensure that their sides recorded shutouts in their respective fixtures. Slotting in alongside them is Theo Hernandez, whose eye-catching performance, which saw him collect 13 points, helped the Madrid backline to keep D.Alaves at bay.
The team's engine room features a trio of top-notch midfield talents. The leading light with 15 points is Philippe Coutinho, who curled home a stunning strike in Barça's 6-1 rout of Girona FC. Lining up alongside the Brazilian ace are Koke (14) and Markel Susaeta (11).
This matchday's LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI strikeforce amassed a total of 66 points. Player of the Matchday Griezmann is joined up top by Lionel Messi (21), who claimed a brace in Barça's drubbing of the Blanquivermells, whilst his teammate Luis Suarez (22) did enough to secure a place in the lineup after helping himself to a hat-trick.
