Jozabed redeems himself at El Coliseum

First half for the home team

The match started with parity, but as the minutes went by it was Getafe who had more approaches on the rivals’ goal. They tried to open the score and they had clear chances to do so, but the lack of aim and Juan Carlos’s performance saved them.

Juan Carlos, a barrier

He was one of the most outstanding players for Rayo Vallecano. The goalkeeper avoided conceding on several occasions and helped his team finish the first half with a clean sheet. In the 15th minute of the second half he stopped the rivals’ double chance.

Jozabed scores twice

Getafe’s goal came in the 13th minute of the second half, but it wasn’t one of their own who was responsible, but Jozabed. Victor Rodriguez, from the right wing, crossed the ball into the box and Juan Carlos tried to catch the ball but didn’t reach it, then Jozabed put it at the back of the net in an attempt for clearance.

Penalty for Rayo Vallecano

Vigaray touched the ball with his arm and the referee gave a penalty for Paco Jemez’s men. Trashorras took responsibility, but Guaita managed to save it. The rebound landed at Jozabed’s feet who scored easily and redeemed himself from having conceded an own goal.

Exciting final minutes

Getting towards the end of the match, both teams had the chance to take the 3 points. Opportunities arose in both areas, but equally good defensive work prevented either side from changing the score. Finally, even points for each in the Coliseum.
