A rip-roaring start
Whilst they may have guaranteed their league survival some time ago, this didn't stop UD Las Palmas coming out all guns blazing at the Nuevo Los Carmenes. Indeed, there were barely three minutes on the clock when the visitors took the lead after Jonathan Viera let fly from the edge of the box and saw his effort nestle into the top corner. Rather than settling on their early advantage, Quique Setien's men continued to create chances and that man Viera was once again on hand to put his side firmly into the driving seat as the midfielder finished clinically from a Roque Mesa cross.
Emphatic Granada response
However, the hosts wasted no time in producing a response. Jose Gonzalez's charges had a real uphill battle on their hands, but they displayed all of their never-say-die attitude to turn things around here. Just a minute after Viera had netted his second of the night, Ruben Rochina struck to reduce the deficit. The Canary Islanders then came within a whisker of further extending their lead when Sergio Araujo's header crashed back off the crossbar. After this warning shot the Andalusians stamped their authority on the game and poured forward in search of an equaliser.

El-Arabi's purple patch
The hosts' domination was beginning to grow and Youssef El-Arabi restored parity when he nodded home from a corner to make it seven goals in his last six appearances. The Moroccan forward's goalscoring exploits might just prove enough to keep his side up.
Worst spell of the game
Driven on by their desperate need for all three points, Granada sought to find a winner, but Las Palmas showcased their characteristic passing game to dominate possession, and they would have added a third had it not been for the heroics of Andres Fernandez in the Granada goal. The Islanders were making inroads into the home side's box at will in what was Granada's worst spell of the game. However, just as the hosts were coming under the cosh, they broke down the other end and won themselves a corner. The ball was whipped into the six-yard box, where Ricardo Costa powerfully headed home to complete the comeback.
Granada see the game out
After having taken a 3-2 lead, Granada tried to take the sting out of things, in a move which saw Las Palmas struggle to create any chances in the dying stages. The final whistle was greeted with much relief from everyone in the Granada camp, with these three points moving the Andalusians out of the drop zone with just two games to play.
