Granada CF won 2-0 against Córdoba CF in the game corresponding to matchday 36 of the Liga BBVA, and the home side dominated from the start onwards. The results leaves José Ramón Sandoval's men in 18th on 31 points, the same number as SD Eibar. Meanwhile, Córdoba, with nothing to play for, are in 20th on 20 points.

In the first half Granada went out showing they were aiming for the three points, aware of what was at stake. Diego Mainz had the first clear chance for the home side, heading from a cross inside the six yard box. However his shot was cleared brilliantly byJuan Carlos Martín. The home side also had a chance from a dead-ball situation with a great header from Jean-Sylvain Babin that once again forced Juan Carlos to intervene and clear the ball. The insistency of Sandoval's men was rewarded in the last minute of the first half, Mainz headed in a good cross from Piri at the back post to open the scoring.

In the second half, Granada made sure very little happened in the first few minutes. Sandoval's men managed their advantage well and Córdoba only managed to worry from dead-ball situations. The home side increased their lead in the 67' minute with a penalty won by Rubén Rochina. Youseff El Arabi stepped up to hit the penalty and scored with a shot that slipped in under Juan Carlos to the right of the goal. The strike killed off the game, and the three points stayed in Granada, allowing them to keep dreaming of survival.
