Areal strength
Atletico de Madrid showed their virtues once again: areal play. And yet again it was one of their best at this who scored: Diego Godin. The Uruguayan centre back headed a cross from the corner by Koke, putting the 0-1 on the score.
Defensive security
If Diego Pablo Simeone’s men stand out for something that is their defensive strength. They have had a clean sheet in the last four Liga BBVA fixtures and Oblak is now on nine games without conceding. Once again, despite Granada’s opportunities, the Madrid team kept their goal unbeaten.

He was the key player in the midfield. After Tiago’s important injury, Saul took over and knew how to help his team with support and great cooperation beside the essential Gabi. In the second half and having given it all, he was substituted for Oliver Torres.
Advantage control
Atletico de Madrid is an expert in these situations. In the 20th minute Godin put his team ahead and from that moment onwards the feeling was that the away team was in control. Granada tried it through Success and El-Arabi, but it was Antoine Griezmann who finished a great play with a fierce strike to score the final 0-2.
