Carlos Vigaray (Getafe CF)

Strong in the air and possessing a good turn of pace, the lanky young defender has played a pivotal role in the run-in so far, including scoring a vital goal against RC Deportivo last time out. Vigaray will look to keep up this fine form in the two games left in his side's survival battle, the first of which is a relegation six-pointer against R. Sporting.

Ruben Rochina (Granada CF)

Blessed with an exquisite left foot and a rocket of a shot, the playmaker is a key figure for Granada and is likely to be influential in his team's fate. Another goal like the one he got last matchday would suit them down to the ground on their visit to Sevilla FC, where they will be out to secure three points to stay on the right side of the drop zone.

Jony (R. Sporting)

Fighting spirit, heart and love of the Sporting colours. That is what is offered in abundance by Jony, who has no qualms about sweating buckets for the cause. Effort aside, the Asturian winger is having a dazzling season and few would bet against him bagging another important goal or two in his team's remaining two fixtures. Next up in his sights are Getafe in what is arguably the biggest match of his career to date.

Santi Mina (Valencia CF)

The versatile Vigo-born youngster, who acquits himself equally well on the flanks and up front, has become a utility man for Valencia in the best possible sense of the term. What's more, he showed that he has a taste for the big stage with his performance at the Camp Nou a few weeks ago. It will be interesting to see if he can repeat the trick this matchday at the Bernabeu.

Recio (Malaga CF)

Together with Ignacio Camacho, the 25-year-old is responsible for keeping things balanced and ticking over in the Malaga midfield. He has excelled in this brief recently, but he doesn't just snuff out danger: he creates it too. In particular, he has proved himself to be a top-notch free-kick and corner taker, something that upcoming opponents RC Celta will have to watch out for.
