FC Barcelona continue their path towards the title

FC Barcelona continued their good run of form with a 2-0 win against Real Sociedad on matchday 36 of the Liga BBVA. The Camp Nou was pulsating with everyone behind the side who are no won 90 points and remain top in the competition. The 'txuri urdin' side are provisionally in eleventh place on 43 points.

There was a clear leading player in the first half, Gerónimo Rulli. The young Real Sociedad keeper frustrated all of Barcelona’s attacks in his area. In the 8’ minute he sent a Leo Messi header out for a corner and the Argentinian keeper also managed to keep Neymar out. The squad trained by David Moyes did not have clear chances on goal, although their main attacks were led by Carlos Vela.

After half-time, Rulli continued to be the key man, keeping out a great header by Marc Bartra to make sure Barcelona did not take the lead. Six minutes into the second half, Neymar, managed to put the azulgrana side head following a pass from Messi from the right wing. In the 65’ minute, another header from the Brazilian caused danger for the Basque side, but Rulli prevented the second goal with another good save. Finally, in the 86’ minute, Pedro Rodríguez made it 2-0 and sealed the win with a bicycle kick.
