#ElClasico is always a very special match. It is a different game for both teams and fans and Twitter witnessed it. Throughout the 90 minutes #ElClasico broke different records.
The battle to be the champion of the match started a few hours earlier on social networks. Everyone wanted to win. And it was shown in the Twitter Card published by LaLiga, asking about what team would win #ElClasico. The Card received 140.000 votes.

With the passage of minutes, the global conversation about the match grew and the tweets generated a total of 831 million impressions views on Twitter. It was the most talked-about on Twitter, which made #ElClasico a world trending topic for several hours.
The three moments when the network had more comments were the first goal of Andres Iniesta meaning the 0-3, followed by the goal from Neymar Jr, which was the 0-2 and finally the 0-4 scored by Luis Suarez.
The most widely mentioned players during the match were Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta from FC Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Marcelo from Real Madrid.
