Eibar enjoy some downtime before setting to work

SD Eibar's Stateside adventure continues, as the Armeros enjoyed a day of New York sightseeing as part of their US LaLiga World tour. Just several hours before kicking off their preparations for their first game, in which they take on the Philadelphia Fury, Jose Luis Mendilibar's charges took some time out to explore Manhattan and drop in on the New York Cosmos's offices.

Eibar's tour of the Big Apple got underway in Manhattan, where the travelling party captured the moment for posterity with a group photo set to a backdrop of the Statue of Liberty. From here, the squad headed to the city's financial district, where they enjoyed a visit to the New York Stock Exchange building, where, once again, the cameras were at the ready to photo the Wall Street Bull, the famous sculpture which represents strength and prosperity. However, the most poignant moment of the day came with the squad's visit to the World Trade Center site.

The tour of the city also saw the Basques drop in on the headquarters of the NY Cosmos, the club at which Raul Gonzalez and Marcos Senna called time on their careers just a few short months ago. Here, the players posed for photos alongside the shirts of the New York outfit's most iconic former players, including Pele and Franz Beckenbauer.

After enjoying their first taste of the United States, Eibar are now readying themselves for their LaLiga World encounter against the Philadelphia Fury on Sunday 22 May.
