Las Palmas will once again place their faith in their expansive football as they seek to snap their three-game winless streak against an Atletico side whose French hitman has three goals in as many games against the islanders.

Team News:

UD Las Palmas: Jonathan Viera (injured); Marko Livaja and Michel Macedo (suspended).

Atletico Madrid: Juanfran, Sime Vrsaljko and Augusto Fernandez (all injured).

Match Facts:

 Las Palmas (13th, 39 pts):

- The hosts will be looking to bring an end to a dismal run of results against this matchday's opponents. The Canary Islanders have succumbed to defeat in each of their last five LaLiga Santander fixtures against Atleti, whilstfailing to find the net in any of those encounters.

- Roque Mesa is very much the man who pulls the strings in this Las Palmas side. The diminutive schemer has attempted the second-highest number of passes in LaLiga Santander this term (2,232), with Atletico's Koke coming in directly behind him in third place (2,174).

- Speaking in the build-up to this clash, Las Palmas boss Quique Setien spoke of his desire to see his players relish the challenge of taking on Diego Simeone's charges: "I hope that the fact that it's Atletico will serve to spur us on."

Atletico (3rd, 68 pts):

Los Rojiblancos have prevailed in five of their last six top-flight visits to the Canary Islands, with their only defeat in this sequence coming in a 2-1 reverse back in the 1986/87 campaign.

- Antoine Griezmann has netted a trio of goals in his three LaLiga Santander outings against Las Palmas. The French forward has struck 16 times in the league this term, a tally which sees him top the Atletico scoring charts.

- The visitors will be going all out to find the net in the first half here, as they bid to remedy their tendency to save their goals until after half-time. Indeed, just 32% of the Madrilenians' goals this campaign have come in the opening 45 minutes of matches, which is the lowest proportion recorded by any side in the division.
