SD Eibar and Sevilla FC will face off this Wednesday in one of the games on matchday 34 of the Liga BBVA. The Basque side go into the game with the aim of increasing the distance between them and the drop zone and take one step more towards survival. To achieve that, Eibar will have to beat a Sevilla side who have gone nine games without a loss and who are hunting fourth spot.
Team News
The home side will be without the goalkeeper Jaime Jiménez, who is suffering from a bone oedema in his sacrum. The Andalusian side travel without Mariano Barbosa, Beto, Vitolo, Nico Pareja and Sebastián Cristóforo who are all injured. Additionally, Gerard Deulofeu and Grzegorz Krychowiak have also not made it into the squad.
Thoughts from the dugout
“The team have not had good results but we are not in the relegation zone and there are few remaining games. We have to take strength from that. We have talked a lot and now we need to do our talking on the pitch”, stated the Eibar manager Gaizka Garitano.
His opposite number on the Sevilla bench Unai Emery, had words of praise for his opponents "This is a game against a side who compete really well. We drew 0-0 at home against them, and they made a real effort and were very competitive. They are a difficult side to beat”.
