Burgos CF celebrates its return to LaLiga Smartbank 20 years on

The city of Burgos is celebrating its long-awaited return to LaLiga Smartbank following its Burgos CF team’s milestone victory over Bilbao Athletic.

Julian Calero’s charges eliminated Calahorra in the semi-final round of the playoffs for promotion to LaLiga Smartbank after a goal by Juanma from the penalty spot. This goal was enough to see them through to the final and they didn’t miss their chance. The men from Burgos sent Bilbao Athletic packing in extra time to earn their ticket to the silver category.
