Villarreal CF ended the LaLiga World tour in Australia with a 3-0 defeat against Brisbane Roar. The result did not effect the atmosphere at the Suncorp Stadium in Australia, where almost 9,000 people watched their idols live. Amongst them was John Aloisi, the former La Liga player and coach who will lead Brisbane next season.

Aloisi showed his thanks to LaLiga World for taking Spanish football across the world: "La Liga is the best league in the world. We are very lucky to see Villarreal here," before adding "games like this are the first step in making Australian football bigger and better."

Clut (2) and Solorzano scored the Australian side's goals against a Villarreal CF side who missed a penalty through Vietto. At the break, José Luis Astiazarán, LaLiga ambassador, presented a commemorative plaque to Brisbane Roar on behalf of Villarreal CF and the LaLiga World project.

After playing two friendlies, visiting a number of cities and sharing experiences with Australian sport, the Spanish side complete their Australasian tour. They have been nine intense days of travel in which alongside LaLiga, ICE, CSD and the Spanish Government, one of the best sides in Spanish football was able to project the image of our country throughout Australia through business and sporting potential.

The Villarreal CF travelling party will start their return trip to Castellón in the early hours of the morning and will land back home on Friday 5 June.
