Betis get pre-season ball rolling with goal fest

Real Betis have got their preparations for the coming campaign off to a good start. In Gustavo Poyet's first match in charge, the side from Seville enjoyed a 7-0 victory over Malaga-based lower-league outfit CD El Palo.

Poyet's men forged ahead early on with a Jonas Martin brace, before Ruben Castro made it 3-0 midway through the first period. In the second half, a Dani Ceballos goal and a spectacular hat-trick by Alex Alegria sealed a comfortable victory for Betis, who gave an excellent account of themselves in their first outing this season. 

Plenty of other LaLiga clubs are primed to kick off their pre-seasons this Saturday. D. Alaves visit Real Union, Granada CF head to Mar Menor CF, and Malaga CF to Algeciras CF. In addition, before setting out on their LaLiga World tours, RC Deportivo and RC Celta start their pre-seasons with trips to CD Lugo and SD Negreira respectively. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad take on Tolosa CF and Villarreal CF line up against CE L'Hospitalet, before Sevilla get their LaLiga World tour underway in the early hours of Sunday morning with a top-level clash against Argentina's CA River Plate.
