Barcelona leave Córdoba with no options

FC Barcelona won 0-8 against Córdoba CF on matchday 35 of the Liga BBVA and took a step closer to the Liga BBVA title, with three games left until the end of the league. Córdoba will play next season in the Liga Adelante.

Córdoba began the game well, with more intensity in all of the one-on-one battles with Barcelona. That pressure lasted for half an hour, until the Catalan side managed to break the deadlock with a goal from Iván Rakitić and another from Luis Suárez that led the way towards victory in the end stages of the first half.

There was no change to the script in the second and it was Barcelona who once again got the goals. First it was Lionel Messi who got the third before Suárez, Gerard Piqué, and Messi sealed the visitor’s large lead.

Before the end of the game, there was time for two new goals, although this time it was Neymar who got his name on the scoreboard before Luis Suárez got his hat-trick. The result leaves Córdoba with no chance of remaining in the Liga BBVA.
