Atletico de Madrid will visit China alongside with LaLiga World

Club Atletico de Madrid will repeat the LFP World Challenge experience in the 2015 pre-season. This time, the ‘rojiblanco’ team will travel to the Asian continent to face Shanghai SIPG on the 4th of August, in a LaLiga World match.

Diego Pablo Simeone’s team took part in a tour last summer which took them through USA (San Francisco), Mexico and Turkey, where they played against Galatasaray AŞ. This pre-season, ‘los rojiblancos’ switch continent and will visit China, where a very attractive duel awaits them against Shanghai SIPG, managed by Sven-Göran Eriksson. The Swedish manager, formally in charge of England amongst others, managed ‘Cholo’ during his time as an SS Lazio player in 2000.

At the presentation of the 2015 Wanda International Tournament, which took place last Monday in Shanghai, Wang Juanlin, president of the Wanda Group, pointed out that the visit of Atletico de Madrid to China "is an example of the type of connections that we can make in order for our cultures to become closer, to the benefit of both countries. This will be a memorable occasion for Chinese football and Spanish football".

For the second year in a row, LaLiga gathers together the best professional clubs from all over the world, with the aim of showcasing the image of Spanish football internationally, spreading the values of the Spanish brand and those of Spanish companies, as well as creating opportunities through cultural and corporate events, making the most of the synergies presented by the activation of an international top level sporting eventl.
