The ongoing LaLiga Global Network selection process has shown that the project is generating excitement in abundance not just in LaLiga and indeed Spain, but rather around the world. Since the initiative was unveiled on 7 November by LaLiga president Javier Tebas and Rami Aboukhair, the country head for Santander Spain, at an event also attended by representatives from Universia, LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3 clubs, and a host of Spanish universities, 7,000 people have applied via www.laligaglobalnetwork.com.

With the LaLiga Global Network microsite and the CV filtering tool – powered by data science and analytics – fully operational, the list of candidates who will go through to the next stage of the process is taking shape with each passing day. The initiative's dissemination has achieved an outstanding reach through a variety of channels, in particular online, where 85% of the applicants heard about this project offering them the chance to embark on an attractive challenge and further their careers. Where the profile of candidates is concerned, there is representation from the full age range, although the majority – some 60% – are aged between 22 and 28.

What is compellingly illustrated by the figures from the process so far is that, fittingly, LaLiga's internationalisation plans have captured the imagination not just in Spain but in all corners of the world. Indeed, more than 1,000 candidates – accounting for 15% of the total pool – hail from other countries across the continents, from elsewhere in Europe to the Americas, Africa, Asia and even Oceania. The desire to get involved in this exciting project clearly knows no bounds.

The successful applicants can expect to carry out demanding tasks, so only the best and most qualified people will do. On this note, 45% of the hopefuls are educated to master's or doctoral level. Still, their education will not end there. A total of 60 candidates will be selected to undergo specialised training courtesy of LaLiga professionals, after which the best 40 will be chosen to represent the institution in strategic locations across the planet, where they will work to boost LaLiga and its competitions' profile and brand value.

With an annual salary on offer roughly corresponding to €60,000 gross, which will be adjusted according to factors such as the income per capita and cost of living in each destination, the opportunity for personal and professional growth up for grabs is truly an exceptional one

For now, however, the LaLiga Global Network programme is still in its first stage, which is in full swing. Applications for the project, one of the most ambitious and exciting that the organisation has ever launched, will continue to be accepted until 29 November, so there is still time for top talents who have not yet done so to head over to www.laligaglobalnetwork.com and seize this unique chance to team up with LaLiga and help it remain the best league in the world.
