RC Celta and RCD Espanyol came out onto the pitch with the objective of taking the three points and they showed it from the start. The home side felt more comfortable as the minutes went by, but the parity was dominant in the first 45 minutes. We saw chances on both goals, moments in which Sergio and Pau appeared to save their respective teams.

Red Card
A minute after the re-start, Pablo Hernandez picked up his second yellow card and Celta were down to 10 men. Despite having a man less, the home team continued to dominate in Vigo.
Espanyol fightback
The Catalans did not throw in the towel though and started to put pressure on the home goal. They searched for the draw throughout the second half, but were denied by the home defence and an alert Sergio Alvarez. One of the clearest opportunities came from a corner kick in the 80th minute.
Nolito scare
Nolito had to leave the pitch four minutes from time, and was replaced by Pape Cheikh who made his Liga BBVA debut.
