A round-up of Wednesday's friendly matches

This Wednesday's pre-season match day ended with different results for the Liga BBVA teams, which are still getting ready for the beginning of a new season. Teams such as R. Sporting, RCD Espanyol and Granada CF could end with a victory but Villarreal CF and RC Deportivo had to be satisfied with a draw. The negative side to this day was Levante UD, which were defeated 4-0 by Bayern 04 Leverkusen.

Real Sporting were able to overcome Club de Ferrol despite the fact that Pablo Rey put the Galician team ahead first. However, Juan Muñiz and Alberto Lora were there on time to get a very positive victory for the Asturians' pre-season. Granada gave Albacete Balompie no option and won 0-2 thanks to Piti and Youssef El-Arabi’s goals, whilst Espanyol defeated US Avellino in the penalty shootout.

Although Villarreal started the match beating Derby County thanks to a goal scored by Leo Baptistao, finally the English squad could draw (1-1). Deportivo also ended the day with a tie against Huddersfield Town, in a very close game that ended without any goals.
