Seven teams from the Liga BBVA continue preparing for the 2015/2016 season playing the usual pre-season friendly matches. Real Sporting de Gijon, RCD Espanyol, Levante UD, Villarreal CF, RC Celta de Vigo, RC Deportivo de La Coruña and Granada CF participated in the summer football matches.

Real Sporting were the first to play and they scored easily in their second pre-season test. The Asturians beat Lealtad de Villaviciosa with a significative 1-9. Mendi and Guerrero, who scored three goals each, stood out in a match in which also Carmona, Isma Lopez and Juan Muñiz scored.

The next teams were RCD Espanyol and Levante UD. The Catalans got a win against the Germans C Köln at the end of the match. The goals scored by Cristian Alfonso and Marc Caballe allowed Sergio Gonzalez’ squad to win the game 0-2 and leave the pitch with a good feeling. For its part, the Valencian club played a good game against CD Teruel and won 0-1 thanks to Victor Casadesus’ goal just before half-time.

Villarreal CF, RC Celta de Vigo and RC Deportivo de La Coruña had contrasting fortunes. The Castellon ones drew against Gimnastic de Tarragona, who have just been promoted to the Liga Adelante. De la Espada got ahead of the Tarragona team thanks to a penalty kick, and Trigueros made the scoreboard even for Marcelino Garcia Toral’s players. In Ponferrada, RC Deportivo made a 0-1 victory against SD Ponferradina, in a game where Luis Alberto tipped the scales in favour of the Galicians in El Bierzo.
RC Celta de Vigo was not so lucky since they were defeated 2-1 in a demanding match against the Turkish Galatasaray As. The Ottoman squad managed to be ahead in two occasions during the first half, but the Vigo team reacted by improving their performance along the second half. Iago Aspas decreased the advantage on the scoreboard but they were not able to tie the match.

Finally, Granada CF closed the summer match day with a 1-1 draw against La Hoya Lorca. Jose Ramon Sandoval’s players showed a better pace in their second pre-season round but the opponent team took the lead. Success scored the goal for Granada CF six minutes before the end of a match which was exciting until the very last moment.
